I have a pack of sugar, most of which has formed into one big lump.

Is there any way to get it to separate?

I've tried using the blender, but I think it killed my old one, so am not willing to try with the new one!

My brown sugar packet says to soften put the sugar in a bowl cover with a damp cloth and leave overnight. I also think you can put it in the microwave for a short time though I can't remember the timing. Anne

I think hitting it with something would be what I'd do.  You just need to find the soft corner and start working on it, trying to break bits off.

Try a pestle and mortar? It works, but takes patience as you can only do it a bit at a time.

Keep it until you make jam or chutney then it will dissolve! Anne
